NCSU Facilities Operations (FacOps) Supervisor Practice Test

After an all-clear, the key idea is to re-enter in a controlled, phased way so safety checks can be completed and crowd flow can be managed. Having staff return to their zones first allows them to verify conditions, account for occupants, and reestablish secure boundaries. Once they confirm their areas are safe, guests can be guided back in under supervision, reducing the risk of lingering hazards or confusion.

Opening all areas immediately can expose people to potential hazards that haven’t been fully checked, which is why that option isn’t appropriate. Reclosing the facility again isn’t necessary once the all-clear has been given. Proceeding with standard entry procedures ignores the incident-specific safety checks and zone-based control that are needed after an event.
